One Game Dad 23: Copilot Less The Adventure
The Wife's away which means I won't play... much.
Beyond what I do to record this show. And if the kid's sleeping. But really I should be working... when I'm not cleaning, cooking and just making life livable. Life though has a way of taking priority over work, unless your work is your life.
That is a whole other conversation. This week I'm on my own with the Kid so of course work can't take priority. There have been times in my life where I want it to. Where I want it to be the only priority. Thing is, my life hasn't followed a path where that's possible. Nor do I want it to be. If all you live to do is work then are you really living. Not to say, that making sure another being survives the day is any less work, or any less consuming.
But there is a balance to find in all things. Lagom - is the Swedish term. Or moderation. Moderation in all things, even moderation would probably be my philosophy. If I had to codify it. Finding that balance, that moderation isn't always easy because of the day to day changes we all experience. None more so than when you have others dependent on you.
Carving out time in your day to actually work is hard. And I don't even have meetings or emails to deal with. Just dirty dishes, clothes, diapers, cat poo, and the constant need to eat. And with that, I'm off to get some lunch.
