One Game Dad 30: Thumbs Are Hard
Dressing a baby or any child is delicate business. Undressing them is a mad dash to prevent poop from getting everywhere!
My daughter is 15 months old now. And she's a lot bigger than she used to be. But she's still tiny in comparison to me. So dressing her is an exercise in soft force. What doesn't help is the fact that it keeps snowing here in Finland. That makes gloves and mittens mandatory.
Have you ever tried to thread a thumb into its appropriate sleeve when you've got a wiggling kid in your arms? If not, your main concern is that you're going to break them. After that, you're just trying to dodge swinging limbs and conspicuously common attempts to headbutt you. Of course once it's all on you're bound to have to take it off because it's either inside out or someone has to poop.
Poop is definitely one thing I could do without. Mainly my own. Sometimes I dream, not literally but more in the daydreamy way, of not needing to use the toilet. All that time I'd gain to do other things. While it may not seem like much, it'd add up over time. Maybe enough to get these episodes out earlier in the week.
The slowness in my release and the shifting schedule of release has been a result of me getting my first client. I've been busy at work and so has the Wife. Meaning I've had little time for anything else, even in the evenings. But nonetheless here's an episode where I ramble on in between playing a game.
This week I played Far Cry 5 a game but still haven't touched the map editor. As usual you can find this episode on Twitch, Youtube, Stitcher, iHeartRadio and iTunes. This podcast is hosted by the Third Culture Kids network.
