Going Up Or Coming Down
Gerald, do you ever… Gerald are you even listening. Ha ha, I know funny question. How could you not be listening, you don’t have a choice in the matter. But have you ever stopped to consider buildings. Not like the function or anything, cause that’s bloody obvious you fool. No I’m thinking more about the fact that if the things are half built or half destroyed they look the same. There’s bones a popping out everywhere, windows missing, scaffolding hanging off em. At a distance, mind you, they look the same. It’s only upon closer inspection or sustained surveillance, and don’t ask me why anyone would watch what’s supposed to be an empty building, they for all intents and purposes look the same. And both offer an equal number of opportunities to commit crimes, or at least cover them up. Though of course that’s dependent on time of day, the nature of the surrounding transient community, and anyone else who’s likely to go a crawling through such places. Bloody kids with their cameras wanting to document the city they say and its regeneration or decay or some such. In my day we were just a looking for some place we could be us. To drink, fuck, smoke, just be away from everyone and everything. That’s why of course, I know that such places are the perfect places for crimes. Now you may be wondering what types of crimes and I’m surprised I have to tell you. I took you for smarter than that, but listen to me gabbing on when we’ve already reached our destination and someone needs to be quiet now.
