Now the main characters of this here story are not what you would call good people. For reasons you shall see. In telling you this I’m forewarning you of events to come while seeking to avoid any of them spoilers. I do this not for your sake, but because in telling this story it may appear that I sympathize with them that are ostensibly our protagonists.
Mark my words, they are no heroes. Though this is their story. And in telling it they take the focus. Their motivations are their own. And mine in telling it… well it’s to inform, and possibly entertain. Yet I must reiterate that the fellows of which I speak are again, not good people.
The actions they take, the choices they make, the consequences of them and their attitude towards them are not recommended or even advised. But that’s not why they are not good people. You’ll learn that soon enough. Rather let me remind you in telling this story, I don’t want to lionize them. Nor do I wish this to be some fable for posterity.
At best it’s an accounting of a shitty situation and the people in it. Valiance isn’t always an option, nor is it necessarily optimal. But you’ll learn that soon enough.
