Pines Instead Of Zines

Pines Instead Of Zines

Click. Whir. Zip zip zip. Click. “And go.”

“Come on, say something.”

“I am.”

“No, you’re sitting there with your mouth open looking dumb.”

“I’m still making a noise.”

“Nothing sensible.”

“Then you say something.”

“I’m the producer, not the host.”

“What am I supposed to be hosting?”

“This podcast.”

“What now?”

“You know, a recorded show that’s sent out to subscribers?”

“People are subscribing to this?”

“Well not yet, they haven’t heard it.”

“Why would they even want to listen to me, let alone us?”

“Cause you have lots of interesting things to say.”

“That doesn’t mean anyone should listen to me. In fact that’s all the more reason they shouldn’t.”

“Why’s that?”

“Oh no you don’t. I see what you’re doing!”

“I’m not doing anything. I’m just curious.”

“No, you haven’t turned off the recorder, so you’re trying to make this the show.”

“No one’s going to want to listen to a show without an intro and some sort of lead-in.”

“Doesn’t mean you can’t edit it. That’s what producers do.”

“Is it? I thought they just took credit for the work of others.”

“Well that too.”

“How do you know what producers do if you don’t know what a podcast is.”

“My uncle.”

“This the same one that works in Japan?”

“Different one.”

“How many do you have.”

“Lost count.”

“There can’t be that many!”

“There can when family planning isn’t something your family does.”

“Okay, we’ll come back to that.”

“We most certainly won’t.”

“We will if you want to sound human.”

“I already sound human.”

“The sound quality on these things isn’t that great.”

“Not my problem.”

“Well you want the audience to connect with you.”

“What audience.”

“Our future audience.”

“I haven’t even agreed to do a show.”

“But I’m recording.”

“You just started recording.”

“And you started talking.”

“No I went, uhh…”
