One Game Dad 29: The Veracity of Awe

One Game Dad 29: The Veracity of Awe

No episode last week but this one continues with a look at how my daughter is a new driving force in my life.

She wakes me up - constantly. But for all the hassle, the sleepless nights and the poop I'm still finding my daughter to be an infinite well of inspiration. A large part of that stems from her incredible interest in everything.

Children are natural-born scientist and my kid is no exception. The sheer awe she shows for just about everything is invigorating. It makes me interested. It makes me want to write and share the world with her; to share in her investigations and interests.

So it drives me a little batty when I'm having to do mundane but necessary tasks, ingress that I don't consider productive, or have delays in getting to work. Which is why taking a holiday last week was weird. It gave me ample opportunity with my daughter but it all also meant I wasn't working. Still get enjoyment and fearlessness in the swimming pool made up for that.

Balancing my time constantly has me rethinking and rejiggering   what projects I'm working on. For all I talk about writing I fell in doing very little these days and so have nothing to show for the past two months. I meant to get a game or in that time but that's delayed. All I've managed to do its launch  The Writing Game, my YouTube series about writing video games. Which means I need tip rethink my schedule further.

This well I played Far Cry 5 a game I don't have high hopes for but one I purchased to play with the map editor. It's one of the few that ship with such tools on the Xbox. As usual you can find this episode on TwitchYoutubeStitcheriHeartRadio and iTunes. This podcast is hosted by the Third Culture Kids network.
