MYNT v. 1 Released

MYNT v. 1 Released

The complete and updated version 1 is now available.

It's been a year since I began MYNT, but I've finally completed it. The Waypoint community game jam, Big Boy Season, was the incentive for that. So you'll find a PDF and ePub version available over on itch.io. Now I just need to create the adventure module I promised for the game jam.

The complete ruleset now includes guidelines for vehicles, mechs, armor and weapons. There are also expanded examples and a character sheet. Along with additional ideas to help both GMs and players tell better stories.

I took additional inspiration from the Never Tell Me the Odds podcast, Friends at the Table Podcast, The Adventure Zone podcast, and of course the various systems they used during their games including:

I hope people find this fun and helpful in their roleplaying endeavors.

More on MYNT

The MYNT system is designed to focus on storytelling through roleplaying. It can work with any setting. Combat is possible but it is not the focus of this system. It was designed to get players doing more than swinging swords or shooting blasters with the aim of beating a particular number in order to succeed. Action and adventure occur through twists and not continued success on the part of the hero.

Think Han Solo, Indiana Jones or Jack Sparrow having to talk, trick or fight their way out of a situation and being smart about it, but things never quite going as they planned. This system is designed for just such events. (How sad is it that I can only think of male characters that act in this manner.)
