One Game Dad 45: Jam Packed Weekend
Game jams are great fun but I don't really have time for them. And then two happened at once.
In the end I did nothing for either. But it's left me feeling that I should be producing something. And I already have three podcasts, a YouTube series, a comic book in the works, a video game going. The last is done with a team so I don't have much effect over it, same goes for the comic book. The podcasts are fun and they scratch a certain itch but they aren't satisfying a certain creative element in me.
So I'm trying to figure out what else I can or should do. To both diversify but also to be more creative put more stuff out in the world. As I said in the podcast the most successful and creative people I know don't seem content to just make one thing but have a lot of irons in the fire. I've found the same to be true for myself. Plus it'll only help my portfolio for finding and getting more work.
At the same time working on the game could change drastically and take over more of my time. So then something would have to be put on the back burner. That urge to do something new and different or at least more focused creatively is strong. Maybe I just need to get back to the novel. Or a novel.
This week I was back at Slay The Spire since I was recording from the office. You can find this episode on Twitch, Youtube, Stitcher, iHeartRadio and iTunes. This podcast is hosted by the Third Culture Kids network.
